if you turn to me. like a gull takes to the wind

oops i did it again,
i dyed my hair red
and captured your heart!!!
oh baby baby...

I can't sleep and i have much to say.
tomorrow is Casmir Palaski day!!!!!
those of you that don't live in chicago
wont find that as exciting
BUTT
it does remind me of a beautiful sufjan steven song.

I'm going to write you a poem to make the spring come sooner:

March on dear spring!

Let me see that grass shawty

I just love the way your sun shines

And the rhythm of your birds

Baby, you know you my only baby

There might have been other babies

But you’re my one and only

Springtime.

I’m remoting less and less on actual human contact.

Which needs to stop.

You know what really brings people together? Orgies.

Then crisis will be averted.

Let me give you an image. when i got home today, couldn’t wait to put my sweats on and my 1984 world tour Santana t-shirt, jamming to coco rosie and maxin on soup.

Needless to say, I’m worn out and over worked.

I’ve been focusing on getting my music together, finishing shooting my movie plus trying to graduate.

Lucky you, I’m feeling light hearted today.

I want to introduce you to a new blogging segment called:

You Give me a BONER “so & so”

This week its been

  • JON HAMM
  • Andre 3000
  • Jenny Lewis
  • Kat Von D
  • Jeff Goldblum
  • Demetri Martin

Any of these people I would gladly surrender my knickers too.

I have been getting back into music i really liked in junior high. It feels a bit unsettling to be nostalgic. At the same time I'm like, this is amazing why did i ever stop!

silversun pickups, the shins, yeah yeah yeahs, bloc party .

makes me feel like time never stopped when ever i hear it

Lets talk about guilty pleasures for a sec.

Sometimes America,

I like things that are not funny or hip or sane. I can’t explain why, and it’s completely reasonable for you not to agree with me.

But sometimes I can’t help myself.

I was raised on emo.

I will always have a kinship with boys with flippy bangs, acoustic guitars and moaning melodies. Its what got me over those devastating 6th grade exploits.

So scuff all you want. I know its not any good.

But listening to some Saves The Day or Brand New once in a while is the same guilty satisfaction I get from a drunken trip to McDonalds.

Nothing. Nothing, melts my heart quite like a Wes Anderson Soundtrack.

I think it might be what home would sound like.

"Hey there Ms. MoneyPussy, wanna jump on ma jetpack?"

Damn, That's one prized pussy...I wish my cat was this great.

I have been...
All over the place lately, so I apologize to those who read for not posting. This weekend I went out & visited my friend, Emily. A girls night at her aunt's house led us to endlessly laugh at everyone surrounding us who had one to one to many beers. The majority of the conversations consisted of "wild" middle-age sex on counter tops. It might be hilarious, but I don't think I could ever look at that speckled game table the same way...
Despite too much information on the subject, Em & I had a great time. It's good to take a break & catch up with a long time friend. & do things like this...

I've been going to a "fashion club" after school every Wednesday for the past few weeks. My dedication has been less then reliable, but after talking to the head honcho about it got my head where it needs to be. My friend Hannah & I were declared the directors of a fashion show that the club is hosting in April at the Mr.OPRF competition. Hannah & I have a bunch of brain storming & sorting out to do to actually make this show worth it. Although...it may end out as a joke, but at least we got the experience. Full of wireless headsets & directions clipped onto clipboards. Tech savvy, I know. We will be displaying local boutique pieces & a few of our student's very own.
We're going to the Art Industry's student Fashion Show on Wednesday. I can't wait.
I'll post about it next week.
CURRENT OBSESSIONS:
-Band tees!
I'm slowly building a collection of these. I usually don't wear tee shirts, but they've been going great with everything lately.

.

-Robotics...
My brother just had a competition. I have to admit, it was pretty awesome & nothing like I'd expected. His team came in second, but he still did a great job!

-Beavis & Butthead (classy).
I used to watch this show in like... Kindegarden. I want the whole series!

-Lauren Conrad's new book: Sweet Little Lies.
I don't usually read books like this, but I'm addicted. I read her first book & this is it's sequel. Love me some LC.

-Keeping Up With The Kardashians: Kourtney gives birth to Mason.
Kourtney giving birth was by far the CRAZIEST thing I've ever seen. After turning & smiling at the camera, not even breaking a sweat, the soon to be mom pulled her baby out of her vagina. It was oddly intriguing, but I screamed almost the entire time.

-Radiohead.
Although I've grown up listening to this outstanding band, thanks to my dad. I didn't "re-discover" them until Sophomore year. Now I can't stop listening.
Blinded by Tom Yorke. Thinking...
Sorry Rolling Stones.

Talking Shit about a pretty sunset

Art work straight from the sketch book:

i drew this for a boy two years ago. ITS NOT LONGER VALID A,HA!
I wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy
i do.

Real love lyrics by John Lennon

"Its the same old story
the fight for love and glory"
my beloved Woddy Allen.

and a french zombie in a love crisis
"je'taime?"

I cant get this song out of my mind :
And i miss you (ooooh…)
And i miss you (ooooh…)
I’m goin back home to the west coast
I wish you woulda put yourself in my suitcase
I love you standin all alone in a black coat
I miss you
I'm goin back home to the west coast

And if you shake her heart enough she will appear
Tonight i think i'll be stayin here
And you never did like this town
I talk out loud like you're still around

wow.
i have mentioned him in almost every post. Someone call intervention. Speaking of addictions:
Current obessions!
* its black history month! Yay!
I have been watching Malcom x by spike lee. brilliant.
Also I have been traveling to the city alot, which means i have been on the train alot
which means alot of scary black hobo men that smell of lime and cigarettes
have been proclaiming their love to me. I'm not being cocky.
I have witnesses.

oh you. your not part of black history month.
but you still row my boat Michael ian black.

SCIENCE OF SLEEP!
Micheal Gondry who directed eternal sunshine did this movie.
one of my favorite films i can still watch.

This is my final fit, my final bellyache with no alarms and no surprises.

Don't even...
Think about it.

Today was a good day, and although I'm falling asleep right here at the keyboard, something compels me post.

The show MUST go on.
These are SO awesome. I can't take it. I found them & immediately yelled for my brother to find one of the 7 pairs of 3D cardboard cut out "glasses" (from various pointless 3D movies we own. I think the only acceptable one is Coraline). It's not quite as cool as I wished for, but the idea of having Donnie Darko's "Frank" as the inspiration made me squeal.

I've noticed a growth in people's Facebook pictures being not of themselves, but as their celebrity look alike. I've been told my look alike is Ginnifer Goodwin. My hair was similar to her's this past summer....but I don't see much other similarity. Unfortunate. She's a DOLL.

I can't believe this is real.
Radiohead's No Surprises as a level on Little Big Planet.

My boyfriend sent these to me & there is a bunch more, but these were definitely my favorite. Scuba Steve over there with the inflatables reminds me of Bill Murray. ESPECIALLY in Wes Anderson's Life Aquatic.
Yeah? Yeah.

Thank you for reading. ♥

-Elli Isabelle.

PS: Me & my brother got matching North Face jackets today, aw. Precious.

I bet my valentines day weekend was cooler
I danced with a 50 year old black woman named Janelle
who was hooting "move that body work that body!!"
you think i'm joking, but i'm so not.
just don't ask how.

I haven't really been focusing on new music mostly because
i'm really into the music i already have and i'm trying to master new songs to sing.
I think I'm going to try to leartn "you belong with me" by T.Swift

It's tired in here.

& if you want to kill yourself, remember that I love you. Call me up before your dead. We can make some plans instead.

(I love this photograph, & I love the boy that took it, too)

First off...

R.I.P Alexander McQueen.
Can't believe it.

Krystal Simpson also shares my love for Spiderman.

I haven't been in the writing mood much lately.
I felt motivated this morning & decided to post. Along with doing my 10,000,000 pounds of laundry. Woohoo!
This weekend I've been moping around the house wishing that everything worked out for New York. I'm missing fashion week & it's killing me. To pass the time, I've done a bit of shopping. The spring lines are making me way to excited for nice weather. Might as well stick with jeans & plaid till the snow melts.
Hey! Happy Valentines day. I hope everyone has a marvelous one.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS:
-This picture.
Unfortunately, this is probably going to be the outcome of my future. I can see it already. Wearing PeeWee Herman crowns, guzzling 40s, baking weed cake.
-Prom dress shopping.
I know i have like 3 months to go, but I'm afraid if I don't find one now. I'm not going to find one at all!

-Superbowl commercials.
I actually really enjoyed the commercials this year, I thought they were hilarious.
Your playing like Betty White out there...
That's not what your girlfriend said.

-Tie Dying!
My hands are still discolored from the dye we used.

I have A LOT of pictures I want to post, so I'll be doing that over the next few days.
Thank you for reading, guys.
-Elli Isabelle.

KOH?

There, I sang you a pop song.
-Mia

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

She sang the soul train with a friend named Jen. Her booty was bigger than a Mercedes Benz.

I cant remember...

The last time groundhog day determined that winter would not continue for another 6 million years.
Groundhog, unfortunately, you are not special.
So because of this, I'm stuck. I don't know whether to buy spring clothes, or heavy winter clothes. This is a delema.

My trip to NYC is coming up soon & I'm begging the sky to bless me with good weather. Maybe I can bring out some pieces I've been dying to wear all winter? None the less, go shopping & not have to worry about if its going to snow or not!

Photobucket

I wanted to find something solid I could post about. Maybe an interesting conversation. Or a fun adventure. I've had a few in the past days, but there is one I want to share. I'm not sure if you remember, but many entries ago, I posted a conversation I had with a friend about love. This new conversation is, in fact, about love, but in a new light. My friend, let's call her J, asked me what is love? What does love mean? I let my mind wander a bit before answering. The first thing that came to mind was a book I read a few weeks ago, Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. Love is a recurring theme throughout this novel. So I chose to answer J with something I had read, but truly believe in. Love is when you hate someone's absence more than you love their presence. Love is when you can admire "them" from a distance. Love is not one sided. It takes TWO to tango.

Photobucket
I soak up these conversations like a sponge. In a way, they are a pathway to ones inner thoughts & beliefs. The term love is used so often that when you do find that person who you "love" more than a word or a phrase could ever explain, it makes you want to scream "I do not love you at all. Love is a tethered word. I will never love you because what I feel for you is so much greater than one word could ever express". Do ya feel me?

Photobucket
I love this picture. Nikki Hilton in a Rodarte for Target leopard dress. Or so I believe.
Photobucket
Summer. I'm missin' on you.
Current attire: dark skinnies, leather "riding" boots, white scoop-neck long-sleeve shirt, long thin coral scarf.

Have a marvelous Wednesday.
